The International Network for Health Workforce Education hosts two types of event each year: one flagship International Congress of Health Workforce Education & Research and a number of smaller Regional Conferences of Health Workforce Education & Research. In 2021 we're holding our events entirely virtually, online, supported by our wonderful community of educators, researchers and trainers.

Virtual Congress of Health Education and Research > from 31st August to Friday 3rd September 2021

We invite all INHWE members to attend the upcoming Virtual Congress of Health Education and Research (Online) which is scheduled for the first week of September 2021, from Tuesday 31st August to Friday 3rd September 2021. Hosted in collaboration with the University of South Dakota (USD) Sanford School of Medicine, the International Network for Health Workforce Education holds the Virtual Congress to promote interdisciplinary co-operation and critical understanding of the latest research in the field of health workforce education, research, training and development. The online event will run across multiple time zones to enabled many of our members to attend.

In addition to a knowledge-rich agenda of multiple presentations focussing on the current trends in medical education, the event named #INHWEOnline2021 will host the Final Conferences of two innovative Erasmus+ projects funded by the European Commission:

  • SAFEMEDIC Final Conference, Tuesday 31st August 2021

The SAFEMEDIC Project aims to improve the workplace safety of healthcare professionals by increasing their skills and competences in dealing with difficult situations. To achieve the project aims the consortium has produced complex multi-stakeholder, inter-disciplinary course for healthcare students, predominantly focused at paramedics and nurses.

  • STORYAidEU Final Conference, Wednesday 1st September 2021

If you are a health sector professional, educator and/or student willing to explore a new, interprofessional model of healthcare training, STORYAidEU is the right project for you with our final outcomes being a training guide/coursebook, learning videos and an interactive lecture explaining how storytelling can improve humanism in healthcare.

These meetings will involve a broad and diverse range of health stakeholders to present the projects' results, discuss their impact on the European health workforce, and formulate concrete proposals for the future of a strong healthcare policy in the European Union. > Presentation Platform: Zoom

Zoom is a platform designed to offer complete Unified Communications maintaining High-Quality Standards. Web Conferencing platform enables Video and Voice Communications to take place through the Internet Browser with Peer Participants and relevant Session Chairs, which allows to seamlessly join meetings with zoom software or zoom application in a web browser.

All presentations must be in English and will be presented live in real time. A Presenters' Guideline including all about logistics and the profiles of our team of Facilitators will circulate among the registered Speakers.

> Networking and Dissemination Opportunities

With the aim of facilitating interviews with registered delegates on their research topics and to ensure that our excellent presentations are disseminated beyond the event, we will run a comprehensive social media campaign via #INHWEOnline2021 on Twitter. After the Virtual Conference, a INHWE members only virtual interview space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Match Making Service: If you would like to find members within our Network you can schedule a short 15 to 30 minute skype call with INHWE Director David Smith to discuss your interests. This service can be used to help you find peers across the globe, future research collaborators or project consortium partners.
